Customization, Care & Upgrades (Extras)
Make your Steven Jacob ring uniquely yours with custom details, optional finishes and add-ons, plus available order upgrades to match your wedding timeline.
Rush Order Options
Fast-track your order by selecting one of two dedicated rush processing upgrades, designed to accelerate workshop production and have your handcrafted Damascus or custom ring completed well ahead of our standard timeline.
Two-Week Rush Processing
Our two-week rush guarantees the production and shipment of your ring within two weeks, advancing your order by up to three weeks in our workshop schedule. This reduces our standard 4-5 week lead time for most rings. Please note that this service excludes precious metal Mokume rings. Kindly contact us directly to expedite those styles. Our free standard shipping takes 2-3 days once your ring is made, and can be upgraded to overnight delivery for US addresses.
Three-Week Rush Processing
Selecting this upgrade ensures your ring is produced and shipped within three weeks, moving your order weeks ahead in our queue, though it is similarly unavailable for precious metal, Mokume rings. Please reach out to coordinate alternative arrangements for those. Standard, free shipping takes 2-3 days upon completion of your ring and can be upgraded to overnight delivery for US addresses.
Custom Ring Finishes & Personalization
Personalize your handcrafted Mokume ring with custom engraving, specialized metal liners, distinctive inlays, and unique surface textures.
Custom Engraving
Write a personal message permanently into the inside of your rings with custom text, dates, or meaningful symbols. Engraved neatly on the interior surface of your ring, our precise laser engraving turns your ring into an heirloom-quality keepsake tailored exclusively to you.
Precious Metal Liners & Inlays
Liners and inlays in yellow, white, rose, and gray karat golds, as well as platinum, palladium and luxurious tantalum offer an attractive contrasting or decorative element to any custom ring. Add a colored element of precious or contrasting metal to your ring's architecture for a striking visual accent, or to take advantage of their hypoallergenic qualities. These interior sleeves and precious metal inlays provide an extra touch of character, comfort, and offer fertile ground for all kinds of customization options. And don’t forget, we can customize your ring with Mokume Gane inlays as well.
Specialty Surface Finishes
Showcase the natural character of your ring's unique pattern and design with specialized finishes like etching, bead blasting, oxide treatment, anodized colors, or our exclusive Diamond Hammered texturing. From our precision etching and Fire Oxide Damascus treatments to a perfect matte luster or precision high polish, our custom finishes enhance the aesthetic impact of each handcrafted band we make and maximize wearability and comfort. Made by Hand(s)™ - for hands!
FAQ's
-
The rush-processing timeframe begins on the day you place your order online or in our Colorado studio and make payment. This means the production clock starts only after the final design specifications, ring width, and materials have been agreed upon. It is not necessary to know your exact ring size at that point in time but you will need to have been measured recently and know your estimated size. We can then send you some of our precision ring sizing bands to confirm your exact size. Because every piece is custom-forged to order, any delays in confirming your ring size may impact your ring shipment date.
-
No. The rush upgrade fee covers only workshop production speed and priority queue placement. It ensures that Steven and Jacob will accelerate the creation of your ring ahead of our standard schedules. Standard or expedited shipping transit options are independent and must be selected and paid for separately at checkout, depending on how quickly you need the parcel delivered to your door. Please note: All jewelry is shipped fully insured and will require an adult signature upon delivery.
-
Yes, you can typically add a rush upgrade after your initial order is placed. Just contact us and check on the progress of your order. It may be that a rush order is not necessary. If it is, we can let you know by what date we can ship your ring and at that point how much an upgrade will cost.
-
No. Once your rush order upgrade is processed and production officially begins, the rush fee is non-refundable. This policy accounts for the reallocation of our labor, material preparation, and workshop scheduling required to fast-track your order.

Steven Jacob is not a single individual, but a father-and-son team collaborating to craft the distinctive rings and alternative-metal jewelry that define our brand. We love working together (99% of the time :-) and with our customers (100% of the time) to make their vision a reality. Most of the time both of us work on each ring that goes out of our studio, though sometimes one or the other of us may do all the work from start to finish. There is a long history of making in our family, so, the father-and-son/family business approach is a natural extension of our family heritage. Steven's more than 45 years of experience with jewelry, blacksmithing & metals, and Jacob having grown up working in his studio and then earning an Industrial Design degree from Savannah College of Art and Design, all contribute to our incredibly high standards of craftsmanship and the seamless way we work together. Operating in our dedicated North Carolina forging studio and Colorado studio/showroom, we combine decades of hands-on master craftsmanship with innovative techniques we have developed to pioneer distinct custom Damascus steel, Mokume Gane, and Tantalum wedding bands. Every piece we create is shaped by decades of accumulated expertise, a reverence for our materials and the inspiring beauty of the natural world that we aim to capture in every ring that leaves our bench.
