DARK BURL | Wide Domed Titanium and Black Zirconium Mokume Wedding Band

from 615.00

Our DARK BURL pattern Mokume rings are similar to the DARK WOOD pattern, with the added feature of a radiating whorl on opposite sides of the band. These two whorls are joined via a flowing diagonal woodgrain pattern. There has never been Mokume Gane like this before, made possible only by our ground breaking technology. Intricate design, cutting edge technology, and a rugged natural look, makes DARK BURL a wedding ring you will admire for decades.

DARK BURL titanium and black zirconium Mokume bands are also available in regular bands of 5mm, 6mm, and 7mm widths and in all women's sizes.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Titanium and zirconium are lightweight, high-strength aerospace metals, making them extremely comfortable for those concerned with the weight of their ring. Using patented technology, Steven Jacob is the only company in the world making this unique metal combination. Starting with the two rich gray metals, we form and etch these rings and then use a molten salt bath treatment that transforms the surface of the zirconium into a black ceramic oxide. This is different than a chemical patina often used on jewelry, because the material is physically altered into a hard and durable surface. Variations of this process are used to create the strong bearing surfaces for many medical implants, and will not crack, chip or peel. Because the zirconium is acid etched before heating, the black lines are below the surface of the titanium which further protects from wear. The result is the hardest, most durable finish found on any ring.

Steve and Jacob were so great! I ordered two weeks before Valentine’s day and made a last minute decision just 6 days before to upgrade to a rush order. They were very responsive and despite having to deal with an equipment issue (which they were very transparent about) were able to get the ring done and delivered the day before Valentine’s Day! The best part was they didn’t let me pay for the rush order until he knew he could get his equipment sorted and make the ring in time. I really appreciate that they didn’t want me to unnecessarily spend more if it wasn’t feasible and kept me up to date the whole time. I would definitely order from them again!
